The second opening weekend of the Richmond Night Market was busy. Thrill-seeking foodies flock to find Insta-worthy dishes and they definitely received it in droves. But does the food actually taste any good?
The Richmond Night Market is celebrating its 25th anniversary. If you don’t know what it is, basically, it is an Asian style night market with street food taken to the next level. This year they’ve added happy hour where vendors offer one item at $10 or less. They’re also about to unveil the world’s only zipline at a night market. More food options. More shopping. More neon lights.

On this foodie road trip I brought my husband. He works in construction and has been with me long enough that he’s hard to impress. He’s a beer drinking man (although Pinot Noir is a new favourite of his) that also has fine taste. oN the few weekends he has off, he likes to take it easy while also treat himself. I was worried he wouldn’t have a good time because for one, there are crowds - not his forte. And two, he’d rather be sitting back at the Gordon Ramsay hotel bar at River Rock resort. I had my work cut out for me. But he’s a good sport on tagged along anyways.
One of the things I noticed immediately was the amount of food that sought to attract the influencers. Never ending cheese pulls, flying ramen noodles, massive pastries the size of my head - it was an Instagram fever dream all set against the backdrop of neon lights. If you want to see my general impressions of the food then watch the video above.
If you don’t know, Richmond has incredible food outside of the night market experience. From the dumpling trail to the Richmond Public Market and beyond, this is one of my favourite foodie cities in Canada. Don’t miss it!

A Unique Way To Tour Kelowna
Last weekend I was invited to a Creator Crawl with local influencers, photographers and marketing specialists. We ventured through downtown Kelowna with Smile Cycle Tours. This unique tour allows for you and 14 others to pedal your way through the streets of the North end district (know for its craft beer) and downtown Kelowna.
Is it easy? Drinking and pedalling was at times a challenge but not daunting. There are also 5 seats that are non-pedalling so when I could I would snag a seat there and just enjoy the cruise.

Now I will say, because of the laws in British Columbia, there is not drinking on board unlike in other areas of our country or the world.
See Berlin’s beer bike tour
Or even Calgary, Alberta!
But despite, it was a great time and with three great stops in the downtown core of Kelowna, I recommend for a big group or solo travellers!
