Hey foodies,
It is your favourite Canadian foodie sisters!
Last week, Taryn and her new husband took us on a 1 day itinerary trip around the island of Oahu. This time they are taking us with them to one of the signature events of the Hawaii Food & Wine Fest: Chef Morimoto’s Jade Cocktail event!
The Hawaii Food & Wine Event runs from mid October to the beginning of November at various locations throughout the Hawaiian islands. Tickets to the various events range from about $200 USD and up with special covered seating for the Jade Cocktail event at $7500+.
Taryn and Kai saw Chef Morimoto there along with other chef and mixologist friends, including Chef Susur Lee! The tickets ran them a steep $600 USD total for 2 but considering it was their honeymoon they thought the splurge would be worth it.
Little did they know that November’s weather in Hawaii is all over the place with sunny skies one minute and then torrential rain the next. Rain hit just as they arrived at the event, held at the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach pool deck which transforms into an exclusive rooftop soiree.
Although some of the chefs aren’t thrilled with the rain, they were still slugging it out with everyone, handing out the food or dishing the hundreds of guests up personally.
Watch to see their experience!
